How To Survive In A Nigerian Campus In This Recession

Entertainment
I have spent all of my previous semesters as a student of Obafemi Awolowo University living on campus, and witnessing both the awesomeness and horrors of students living in the famous halls of residence. Life's pretty harsh around here, I've seen people go an entire day on an empty stomach, whilst still chasing multiple lectures in multiple locations, and after it all, they return to their rooms to soak Gari in the murky "Omole water" (named after the erstwhile Vice-Chancellor), and paltry peanuts and sugar. Pile all that on top of the misery of the current economic recession and growing inflation, resources dry up fast, and students end up drained, emaciated, in poor psychological state, overall in very bad shape. It's a hard life. But you should learn to afford yourself as much comfort a...

How Our Teens And Youths Are Damaging Their Spelling Skills And Punctuation

Entertainment
It's no news anymore that almost ALL teens and youths have adapted to shorthand for typing with mobile phones. To make matters worse, despite the invention of corrections on most smartphones, we still prefer to use shorthand. The annoying part of it is that, some of these shorthands have the same number of letters or even longer letters as the original words. Some use funky spellings instead. Another thing I've noticed is that most of our youths and teens don't know when to use some certain words instead of the right ones cos they both sound alike. Example of these are: ''HAVE seen the books'' instead of '' I'VE seen the books'' ''he has GIVING me the books'' instead of ''he has GIVEN me the books'' ''BEEN a guy doesn't mean i can't have female close friends'' instead of ''BEING a guy...

How Not To Be Broke As A Student

Entertainment
Talking about being broke as a student, if we were to have an association, I would have been their chairman because my early days in school was not funny. There are lots of money making tips out there, but the question is how many of them works? When you even read some of them, they have no directory, no solid procedures to implementing them. I want to believe you have been going over my articles here on Myschool and have been getting motivated for greatness. So hold every fact in this post firmly. Take it or leave it, studying becomes very much interesting when you have money to take care of yourself. Most student stay off campus and trek to class virtually everyday, not because they love it but because the cash flow isn't just cool enough. Sometimes you don't just have to call home ...
