FG Resolves To Pay ASUU N23 Billion Earned Academic Allowances

The federal government has resolved to pay the 23 Billion Naira owed the Academic Staff union of Universities (ASUU) as Earned Academic Allowances (EAA) between 2009 and 2010.



This was contained in a document of the resolution reached between Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions/Tetfund, ASUU, NUC, Federal Ministry of Education and other stakeholders.



According to the document, also states that “The government offered to pay N1 billion monthly for six months, while the balance up to 2016 would be paid at the end of the forensic audit of universities accounts.



The resolution also urged federal government to resume its “quarterly release of N55 billion that would be ring-fenced for the purpose of massive injection of funds to deposition Nigeria universities.”
