The National Vice President and Organizer Ernest Obeng and Benjamin Taylor made a representation at the maiden collegiate conference of the National Association of Nigerian Post-Graduate Students (NANS-POSTGRADS) held on Wednesday, December 14 at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
The programme started promptly as scheduled at 11:00am with a prayer followed by the National Anthem of Nigeria. A representative of the Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Professor Mohammad Akaro, gave the opening remark followed by the keynote address from Mrs. Helen Osuagu (Assistant Director) who represented the Minister of Information.
Professor Uzodinma Nwala (President, Alaigbo Development Foundation) made the presentation at the conference on the topic; “The Domestication of Graduate Students Research Outcomes and their Benefits to the Development of Nigeria’s Economy”. The second presentation followed suit on “How Graduate Students can Focus their Researches on the Development of Raw Materials in Nigeria” by Dr. Ibrahim Doko (CEO, Raw Materials Research and Development Council).
The third presentation was delivered by Mr. Ernest Obeng (Vice President, GRASAG) on “Graduate Studies in Africa; The Ghana Experience” in which he touched on how the synergy of research efforts and outputs of the theming youth of Africa can deliver the continent rich of so much resources from its numerous problems mostly associated with economic management. The final presentation of the day was by Mrs. Miriam Yakubu Ikunnyaiye (CEO, Indigen Consulting) on the topic “Knowledge Economy and Nigeria’s Quest for Economic Development”.
After hours of academic and relevant presentations on the theme of the conference “Nigerian Post-Graduate Students Research Outcome and Their Benefits to Nigeria’s Economy”, prize and certificates presentations were made to deserving personalities whose immense contributions have seen to the successful establishment of the association.
Professor S.A.S. Aruwa (Dean, Nasarawa State University Graduate School) gave the closing remarks right after a short word of appreciation by the National President of NANS-POSTGRADS, Mr. Kingsley Enwelim Nwanze.
