Q1. (a). Define the term AS-sarf with illustration.
(b). List five from Huruuf Ziyadat and use them in complete sentences.
(c). State with illustrations the importance of AS-sarf in the study of Arabic Language. (60 minutes/30 Marks).
Q2. (a). Give each of the following verbs its appropriate descriptive terms and use it in a sentence:
سَلَّمَ (Sallama) أَرْسَلَ (Arsala) بَسْمَلَ (Basmala) فَتَحَ (Fataha) اسْتَخَرَجَ (Istakharaja)
(b). Differentiate between Al-fi’lul Muta’ad and Al-fi’lu lazim and illustrate each with five complete sentences. (45 minutes/20 Marks).
Q3. (a). Give five examples for each of sound and healthy verbs (Al-fi’lu Asaheehu) and conjugate them accordingly.
(b). Give one example for each of fi’lu muda’af, mithaal, naaqis, lafeef and al-mahmuz and use it in sentences. (45 minutes/20 Marks).
Q4. (a). Differentiate between Al-ismu al-jaamid and Al-ismu al- mushtaaq with examples.
(b). Give 2 examples for each of the following derived nouns and use them in complete sentence: 1- Ismu l-aalah, 2- Sorf l-makaan, 3-Anisbah, 4- At-Tesgeer 5- Ismu l- faa’il. (45 minutes/20 Marks).
