ASUU Strike: Senate Meeting With Union Leaders Remains Inconclusive

Report has it that the meeting between the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Senate on Monday night towards resolving the current issues between the union and the Federal Government ended inconclusive.

According to the Chairman, Senate Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFund, Jibrin Barau during a chat with news men after the meeting, all the issues raised by ASUU have been resolved except the one concerning payment of arrears.

The Chairman further mentioned that all the stake holders present in the meeting will reconvene at a later date to resolve all the issues after due consultations have been made.

Efforts to get some officials of ASUU to speak on the aftermath of the meeting yielded no result as they declined to comment on it.

It will be recalled that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) last week embarked on a one week warning strike to get the Federal Government to attend to its demands.
