ii Enumerate the four (4) practical guidelines that govern the use of questionnaire as a tool
in Survey research.
iii What are the advantages and disadvantages of Survey research design? (10 marks)
(c)i What are the three (3) basic assumptions for most parametric tests according to Best &
Kahn (1995)?
ii Identify two (2) criteria in which the assumptions of parametric tests are based.
iii What does the F-ratio used in Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) indicates? (10 marks)
2(a)i Distinguish between the concepts of delimitation and limitation as used in research.
ii Identify the relevance of assumptions in setting up a research problem; (10 marks)
(b) Explain the term ‘construct’ pointing out how they are used in explaining research
work. Use the ‘construct’ ‘motivation’ for illustration. (10 marks)
3(a)i Explain the concept of sampling in a research study.
ii Why is sampling important in educational research? (10 marks)
(b)i Explain the term questionnaire as used in educational research.
ii Enumerate five (5) characteristics of a good questionnaire. (10 marks)
4 (a) Explain the meaning of Experimental design and enumerate six (6) characteristics of
experimental method. (10 marks)
