The Anlo Youth Council (AYC) has sent a goodwill message to staff and students of Bambiland Montessori in Keta on the occasion of their first year anniversary celebration.
GOODWILL MESSAGE BY ANLO YOUTH COUNCIL, ON THE OCCASION OF THE FIRST ANNIVESSARY CELEBRATION OF BAMBILAND MONTESSORI IN KETA ON WEDNESDAY 23RD NOVEMBER, 2016.
About Seven Hundred years ago, our forefathers settled here, and found the State we now know as Anlo. The circumstances leading to their departure and settlement here, thankfully is known to us all and very fresh on our minds as we had just celebrated Hogbetsotsoza.
This love for freedom is a responsibility for all Anlos living today. Regrettably, this is not so. We still find enslavement in many forms among us today which does not resemble at all the transatlantic slave trade of four hundred years ago
To mention but a few, these are:
• Lack of positive self-identity
• Lack of positive role models
• Lack of sustainable employment opportunities
It is important that we continue to seek freedom from the enslavement just mentioned. To do this we must continue to take seriously the burden of responsibility placed on us by our forefathers. Each of us.
It in this regard that we must be grateful to Mr. Jekson Doe for investing priceless resources to establish this beautiful school. This is worthy of emulation. May this singular action inspire other Anlos to take up the responsibility to establish businesses here and other endeavors.
Secondly by bringing a world class education to Anlo, you are helping to raise a new generation of Anlos, who will have pride in who they are as people. Thus helping them develop the modern tools required to confront the modern enslavement we find ourselves in today.
It is our hope as the Youth of Anlo that you will include in your curriculum the philosophy of Anloness. Continue to equip them to take up the mantle of leadership. That is the only way we can be sure of our survival as a people and the creation of the better tomorrow that we all look up to.
On behalf of the youth of Anlo, we salute you on the occasion of your first anniversary.
HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! CONGRATULATIONS!
