The Ghana Air Force has presented a decommissioned aircraft (Aermacchi MB-339 jet) to the School of Engineering Sciences at the University of Ghana.
This presentation is part of plans to establish a Department of Aeronautics and Space Technology at the University.
The aircraft (Aermacchi MB-339 jet) will serve as instrumental equipment for the practical training of students as well as further push the frontiers of both civil and military aviation engineering in Ghana.
According to Univers report, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ebenezer Owusu Oduro, who spoke at the presentation ceremony, said with the arrival of the aircraft, it is imperative for the School of Engineering Sciences to fast-track ongoing discussion with relevant stakeholders in the aviation industry as well as solicit for approval and accreditation.
