1. Some categories of women are temporarily forbidden to be taken as wives in Islam. Mention four of these categories and give reasons why marriage with them is said to be temporary. (23 marks)
2. Qur’an chapter 4 verse 34 says:
“Men are in charge of women by (right of) what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend (for maintenance) from their wealth.”
In line with the qur’anic verse above, explain five major roles a man is expected to play as a husband at home. (23 marks)
3. Mention and then discuss five circumstances that can make a man marry more than one wife in Islam. (23 marks)
4. Family planning and birth control is a controversial issue in Islam. Discuss.
(23 marks)
5. Qur’an chapter 4 verse 7 says:
“For men is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave, and for women is a share of what the parents and close relatives leave, be it little or much – an obligatory share”.
Discuss on principle of inheritance in Islam with particular reference to the three conditions that must be met before it can take place. (24 marks)
