Supreme Court adjourns Amidu-Woyome showdown

The Supreme Court has adjourned hearing on the application for stay of proceeding filed by businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome in the controversial judgement debt cross-examination to December 1.

Mr. Martin Amidu, a former Attorney General, was expected to grill Mr. Woyome on the GHc51.2 million he obtained from state.

But, in court today, counsel for Mr. Woyome, lawyer Ken Anku told the court they have an application in an attempt to reverse the court ruling to have his client examined by Mr. Amidu.

The court however adjourned the case to afford the respondent in the case Mr. Martin Amidu the opportunity to respond to the application.

This was after Mr. Amidu told the court that he was only served with the application 9:20am Thursday morning.

The single apex court judge Justice Annin Yeboah said per the rules, the respondent needs a statutory three working days to decide if he wants to oppose the motion or wave it.
