<p><strong>COURSE TITLE: </strong>Advanced Multimedia Technologies</p>

<p><strong> INSTRUCTION:</strong> Answer any five(5) questions. Each question carries 14 marks.</p>
<p><strong>1. </strong>You work at Plus Digital Multimedia. As their manager you are asked to talk about digital and analogue signal conversion: how it is done elaborating on the design of the process (illustrating with diagrams where applicable) <strong>(14 Marks)</strong></p>
<p>2. As the multimedia technologist in the company your CEO has requested you to write a summary on the data compression model. Also to advise on implementing/adopting data compression. (Illustrate with diagrams where applicable) <strong>(14 Marks)</strong></p>
<p>3. At an interview, the panel asks you to briefly discuss what you understand about digital image processing the steps involved in image processing. <strong>(14 Marks)</strong></p>
<p>4. (a.) State the Nyquist s theorem (5 marks)</p>
<p>(b.) In not more than ten lines each, briefly discuss three major system for specifying colours in some standard way which consists of a three dimensional coordinate system and a subspace of that system in which each colour is represented by a single point. <strong>(9 Marks)</strong></p>
<p>5. (a.) Briefly define discrete cosine transform (DCT) as relates to Advance Multimedia technologies and discuss its application to JPEG and MPEG <strong>(8 Marks)</strong></p>
