There are quite a few programs effective in reducing deliquent behavior. Social learning programs that teach new skills and reinforce behavior and attitudes. Cognitive behavioral programs focus on substance abuse, attitudes, peers, values, anger, and more. There are also programs that train families on appropriate behavioral techniques. Programs like these are effective because they focus on behavioral interventions. Juveniles learn to replace their deliquent behavior through prosocial modeling and reinforcement. Early intervention is a great way to prevent deliquent behavior. The goal is to provide the juveniles with the tools they need to stay out of trouble. There are many programs offered through early intervention such as: mentoring programs, bullying prevention programs, classroom and behavior management programs, and comprehensive community interventions.
The post What types of programs for youth do you think are most effective in reducing delinquent behavior? first appeared on Campusflava.

The type of programs I think are most effective are the Big Brother, Big Sister ( Community Based Mentoring Programs) and The Adults in the making Programs. The big brother and the big sister program are made up of Adults who grew up in the same community that the younger people grew up in and takes them under their wings to show them how they can make it out of there neighbor hood to be successful. The adults in the making program encourages families as a whole to participate in the program to strengthen their bond as a family so the kids will not be afraid to talk to their parents about things that are bothering them and what is happening in their lives.
The post What types of programs for youth do you think are most effective in reducing delinquent behavior? first appeared on Campusflava.

I think the most effective programs that are most effective in reducing delinquent behavior are the community programs that are offered after school and in the summer. A lot of youthful offenders start out committing crime because they are bored. A lot of times it’s vandalism or theft that gets them started on a criminal path. These after school and summer programs give these children something to keep them occupied and to look forward to each day. It is very important to keep their attention and develop them in a positive way during their younger years. In our community we have a program called the Boys & Girls Club. It is offered free to the youth in our area and has been very successful in helping them develop in a positive way. They get to participate in fun activities each day and take a trip at least once a week. They go to museums, go on outdoor adventures, and even go to amusement parks. More cities need programs like this one that keep the youth motivated and distracted from all the things that can land them in a life of crime.
The post What types of programs for youth do you think are most effective in reducing delinquent behavior? first appeared on Campusflava.

Afterschool recreation programs and mentoring programs helped myself and other kids from my community. I believe that if something is being done in the beginning of the problem most programs would be effective. Early intervention plays a major role on how most youth will react when help is handed to them. As the saying goes “the better and more cost-effective place to stop the “cradle to prison pipeline” is as close to the beginning of the pipeline as possible.” Early intervention stops the onset of delinquent behavior.
Afterschool program was a safe place for me. I grew up in a violent neighborhood so having somewhere safe to go was very important to my mother, because she knew that her children was in a safe environment with positive people. I remember it very well we had three white female teachers from the suburbs (they were very brave) and one black male who volunteer to walk all the kids home (so the drug dealers wouldn’t pressure young boys into jointing their organization). Sadly they wouldn’t save all of us but it gave most of us hope for a better future, which we accomplished later in life.
The post What types of programs for youth do you think are most effective in reducing delinquent behavior? first appeared on Campusflava.

Prevention as well as early intervention is normally, juvenile delinquency follows a trajectory same to that of typical adolescent development. They say children as well as youth tend to follow a path toward delinquent as well as criminal behavior rather, than engaging randomly. They say they are two kinds of delinquents. Those in whom the onset of severe antisocial behavior starts in early childhood as well as those in whom this onset coincides with entry into adolescents (SciencesEngineeringMedicine, 2001). Early intervention prevents the onset of delinquent behavior as well as encourage the development of youths asset and resilience, while many past approaches attention on remediating visible or long lasting disruptive behavior, study has shown that prevention as well as early intervention are more effective. They say one good development model pin points six life sections of work, education, relationships, community, well-being as well as creativity. Some of the effective programs are classroom and behavior management programs as well as mentoring programs.
The post What types of programs for youth do you think are most effective in reducing delinquent behavior? first appeared on Campusflava.
