What should be done with the pregnant female prison inmate? With her baby?

In my opinion, the pregnant mother should be able to have their baby in prison or jail until the child is three years of age. The reason why I say three years of age because the child will not be aware of what’s going on. Sometimes I wish the government will build a facility where pregnant women can go and have their babies and raise their child, instead of putting their child in a foster home. I personally don’t trust foster homes but you have to do what you have to do, when you don’t have any where else for your child to go? I know many people will disagree that women having their child is not good. Why? Some people feel raising their child in prison or jail is not a good environment to raise children, which it’s true but giving your child to someone you don’t know is also not good. Especially if women don’t have any family or friends they trust to raise their child until she’s discharged from prison or jail. I also have read that some prison or jails will let the mother have her baby and keep the baby with her in prison until the child turns 18 months or 2 years old so I guess I was close with the age limit (Palsha, 2016).
