A 24-year-old man identified as Samuel Ogbonna, is among 150 Nigerians studying in the United Kingdom on scholarships, who may be forced to return home before Christmas because their funding has been stopped by their sponsors. A British newspaper, The Sunday Telegraph, first brought the plight of these students to the knowledge of the public in a publication that recently caused a stir in the education sector in Nigeria. It appears like the reports of vaccination of school children against monkeypox virus in the eastern part of the country - have done more harm than good in the nation following pandemonium in Maiduguri, Borno state capital. According to multiple reports, school activities were cut short earlier today after reports filtered into town that students were being injected with vaccines by a non-governmental organisation (NGO). Parents immediately stormed the schools and withdrew their children as panic spread from one school to the other. A Nigerian lady, Folafoluwa Oginni has made her family and Nigerians proud of her as she graduates with a perfect 5.0 GP from Heterfordshire University in the U.K. In 2012, Folafoluwa Oginni, emerged the best student in WAEC and later proceeded to study Law at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife. However, She was forced to leave OAU in her sophomore year, with a CGPA of 4.53, due to the ASUU strike. She went to the U.K to continue her studies at the University of Heterfordshire and she just became the university’s first Nigerian Valedictorian, after finishing as the overall best student with a perfect CGPA with a score of 360 out of 360.
