Instructions: Answer question one (1) which is compulsory. Attempt any four (4)
questions which carry equal marks.
1. (a) Briefly explain the concept of good extension teaching (2.5 marks).
(b) For effective teaching in extension work to take place, there are several
procedures to be considered. Identify and discuss five of them with special
reference to good extension teaching (7.5 marks).
(c) There are some attributes of extension teaching which if understood by the
extension worker can help in assisting the clientele to gain an
understanding of the concept he is trying to sell to them. Discuss five of the
attributes (10 marks).
(d) The extension worker is a teacher who brings about desirable changes in
human behavior. Mention and discuss four (4) logical steps in extension
teaching for him to meet success in his efforts (10 marks).
2. (a) Define the term learning in agricultural extension (2 marks)
(b) Distinguish between learning situation and learning experience in
agricultural extension (4 marks).
(c) Transfer of learning depends upon on a number of similar components in
the two situations and also upon the mental capacity of the learner.
Enumerate four (4) ways by which transfer of learning can be achieved in
extension (4marks).
3. Outline and discuss five factors influencing motivation in agricultural extension
(10marks).4. (a) Explain the concept of extension teaching methods (2.5 marks).
(b) List and explain three (3) basic conditions necessary for effective utilization
of teaching methods in extension (7.5 marks).
5. (a) What do you understand by Farm and Home visits in agricultural extension
? (2.5marks).
(b) Identify five significant purposes of farm and home visits in extension
(5marks).
(c) Discuss the concept of group discussion in extension work (2.5 marks).
6. (a) Itemize and discuss four (4) essential elements that must be present for
proper communication to exist in extension (8 marks).
(b) When does communication gap exist in extension work? (2 marks).
7. Write short notes on any four (4) of the followings:
i. Newspapers
ii. Credibility
iii. Exhibits
iv. Instructional Aids
v. Feedback
