1.      Explain the three traditional functions of the mass media and two other important functions. Discuss, with cogent reasons, why the mass media are very essential in a modern society like Nigeria.                                         (25 Marks)
2.      Discuss the four normative theories of the press and with examples show how relevant they are to the societies where they operate.                                   (15 Marks)
3.      Define theory and differentiate it from assumption? Why do universities teach/study theory?                                                                       (15 Marks)
4.      The Nigerian mass media as we know it today started in 1800. Carefully explain the various eras up to the present. How does the present era compare with the pre-independence era?                                                                              (15 Marks)
5.      Define and explain  the term communication and write notes on the following:
a.       Non-verbal communication                                                           5 Marks
b.      Process of Communication                                                             5 Marks
c.       Media Imperialism                                                                          5 Marks
6.      a. What is globalization?                                                                        (10 Marks)
b. Explain the impact of globalization in Nigeria.                                (14 Marks)
