1a. Define Industrial Relations                          (5 marks)

b. Discuss five (5) reasons for government involvement in the practice of Industrial Relations.

c. Explain with examples five (5) responsibilities of an employer in Trade Unionism. (10 marks)

 

 

2. Health and safety in organizations are the responsibilities of the employers and the employees. Why is this so?                                                                                                             (15 marks)

3a. What is workplace forum and what forms of workplace forum do we have in Nigeria?

(5 marks)

b. Under what circumstances can management withhold information from workplace forum members?                                                                                                                                                                             (10 marks)

4. Explain the differences with examples between contract of employment and contract of apprenticeship.                                                                                                                                                                      (15 marks)

5. Explain the four (4) roles of the personnel department according to Storey’s (1992) framework for Specialist Function in Industrial Relations.                                                          (15 marks)

6. Write short notes on:

Public servants/officer                                                                         (5 marks)
Common law employees/workers                                                        (5 marks)
Negative discipline.                                                                             (5 marks)
