Senate Passes Bill to Convert KADPOLY to City University of Technology, Kaduna

Senate has passed for third reading a bill seeking the conversation of Kaduna Polytechnic (KADPOLY) to City University of Technology, Kaduna. This followed the consideration and adoption of the report of the committee on Tertiary Education and TetFund chaired by Sen Jibrin Barau (APC, Kano).
The bill, sponsored by Sen Shehu Sani (PRP, Kaduna). After the adoption of the report, the senators agreed to pass it for third reading immediately at yesterday’s plenary.
Sen Shehu Sani who is an alumni of the institution also shared this news on his Official Facebook and Twitter Handles, he posted as follows:
At last, the Bill on the conversion of Kaduna Polytechnic to the City University of Technology, Kaduna has been passed today. We will now be expecting the Presidential assent. Congratulations to all the Products of this great institution.

It is also notable to note that there are currently six serving senators whom were former students of Kaduna Polytechnic, amongst them are: Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Senator Kabir Marafa, Senator Abdullahi Gumel, Senator Abdullahi Sabi, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Senator Shehu Sani.
The Senate is expected to immediately send the bill to the House of Representatives for concurrence so that it could be transmitted to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent before the expiration of the current 8th National Assembly on June 9.
