Effutu Chiefs apologise to Nana Addo over ‘Simpa Panyin’ comment

The chiefs and people of Winneba in the Central Region have rendered an unqualified apology to the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, for accusing him falsely of making derogatory remarks against people of the area.   At a press conference organised by the traditional leaders at Effutu on Thursday, November 24, the Tufuhene of Effutu, Neenyi Otuboa Siripi II, in a statement read on his behalf by the Adontenhene of Effutu, Neenyi Gyete Gyankuma II, called on Mr Akufo-Addo to apologise for using the term “Simpa Panyin”, allegedly against the people of the area.   However, “it has since come to the attention of Nananom that the alleged tape upon which we made our earlier demands is of dubious quality and cannot be verified”, the traditional body
