JAMB meets WAEC, NECO, to fix 2017 UTME Date

JAMB has now concluded plans to fix the dates for the 2017 UTME. This was made known today by The Head, Media and Information of the board, Dr Fabian Benjamin. Members of the JAMB board have been scheduled to meet with board members of WAEC, NECO and NABTEB on Tuesday, 17th January, to find suitable dates for the 2017 UTME. Remember that the new JAMB CBT no longer holds in one day, and may require up to 2 weeks to fully test all candidates, who apply for the exam. This meeting will therefore help avoid clashes in exam dates for other exam bodies, a problem experienced in previous exams. THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned prospective candidates against purchasing fake UTME application forms or falling victim to fraudsters as the sales of the 2017 UTME form has not commenced.  This was coming from JAMB’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dr Fabian Benjamin on Monday. The President, Computer-Based Test Centre Proprietors Association of Nigeria (CPAN), Engineer Sage Udibuami, has described the introduction of Computer-based Test (CBT) by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), as one giant stride, which has drastically reduced the spate of examination malpractices in the country. In preparation for the 2017 UTME, JAMB Registrar/Chief Executive, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede has announced that interested Computer Based Test centres (old and prospective) are invited to apply online through www.jamb.org.ng for accreditation. He noted that registration closes 12.00pm on Monday December 12th 2016, he also announced that JAMB will hold a meeting with the CBT centres on Tuesday 13th December 2016.
