Screening for admission will be online and based on the VERIFIED JAMB scores and SSCE/WAEC/GCE/NECO results supplied on the Undergraduate Admissions Portal during the screening application. Direct Entry candidates must forward their academic transcripts to the Registrar, Osun State University before they can be considered for admission. The Osun State University also known as UniOsun will be expelling 4000 students for failure to pay school fee which is valued at N2billion. The students who didn't pay before deadline which is today 28th of Feb, such students would be rusticated. Most students gave excuses of using their school fee to invest in the popular ponzi scheme MMM. The school gave grace to students who did not want to be rusticated to apply for grant leave of absense for the current semester so that they can go and work to pay the money at the commencement of a new semester. The Senate of Osun State University has approved that the registration portal be opened for use on Friday 17 February and be closed by Friday 24 February, 2017. Students are therefore advised to conclude their registration, including payment of late registration charge within this period. These are simple rules that apply in all civilized climes. For the avoidance of doubts, NO unregistered student will be allowed to write examinations. Such students are advised to stay clear of examination centres.

The management of Osun State University (Uniosun) yesterday ordered students of the institution to proceed on mid semester break with immediate effect.According to reports the sudden break may be connected with students' protest over the death of a student who allegedly died as a result of negligence from the Hospital Management. A press release by the Police Public Relations Officer, Folashade Odoro stated that the students mobilized to protest the death of the student which generated shootings. The Department of State Security Service (DSS), Osun State Command, has apprehended a herbalist, simply identified as Jelili also known as Ifa (oracle) and a commercial driver, Elijah Oyebode for allegedly kidnapping and killing a 400 Level student of Osun State University, Osogbo, Adebisi Rofiat Damilola.  The driver confessed that the herbalist gave him the assignment to bring a young lady and get N10,000 (ten thousand) as reward. By Hameed Oyegbade, Osogbo  Students of Osun State University not paying fees owe up to N2 billion in tuition, the vice chancellor of the school, Professor Olabode Popoola, has said. Addressing a press conference in Osogbo, the state capital, the VC said the situation of the unpaid school fees has become unbearable and that the system might collapse if drastic measures were not put in place to recover the debt. He lamented that many of the former and present students of the university refused to their school fees and that the institution would no longer tolerate such habit for any of its students.
