PPP, PNC merge for parliamentary candidates in the north

The Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and the People’s National Convention (PNC) have entered into an agreement to vote for each other’s parliamentary candidates in some constituencies in the north.

By the special merger, PPP is expected to campaign for PNC candidates and vice versa. This, according to a jointly signed statement, is to get PPP and PNC members in Parliament “to advocate for needed changes to the 1992 Constitution, ensure that the health, social welfare and employment needs of the majority of our people become priorities and affirm the multi-party nature of our democracy”.

By the agreement, PPP will campaign and ask their supporters to vote for the PNC parliamentary candidates in Nadowli Kaleo, Sissala East, Builsa South, Bolga Central, Talensi and Walewale constituencies.

PNC is also expected to campaign and ask their supporters to vote for PPP parliamentary candidates in Wa East, Bongo, Wulensi, Tempane, Wa Central and Salaga North constituencies. “We urge the good people of Ghana who are valid voters to vote massively for PPP and PNC candidates on 7 December 2016.”
