POSTPONEMENT OF POST-UTME APTITUDE TEST This is to inform the general public that the University of Lagos has postponed its 2017/2018 Post-UTME APTITUDE test previously scheduled for Monday 18th to Friday 22nd September, 2017. Roli Odogwu, a 200-Level Mass Communication student, and Linda Elegeonye, a 300-Level Law student, died of burns, days after they were trapped in the hotel room where they were guests. Until their death, the two students were residents of Fagunwa Hall. CAMPUSLIFE gathered that the duo left the campus on Monday to attend an evening event off-campus. The management of University of Lagos (UNILAG) has provided free Internet Wi-Fi. The Free Internet Wi-Fi would allow the students to have access to the Internet and increase knowledge within the institution, whereby elevating them to the same level with their contemporaries at other institutions of learning. With this present economy climate, students that have Internet enabled devices but can’t afford the data bundles touted by the providers making Internet access a daunting task but the fact that its free allows it to cut across all age groups within the institution. The attention of the University of Lagos has been drawn to the publications by Vanguard Newspaper of Tuesday, January 7, 2017 and a blog, olufamous.com with the title, “Unilag Introduces New Dress Code for Students… no more shakara”. The University of Lagos wishes to inform the general public that it has not approved or implemented any new dress code for its students. The general public is hereby advised to discountenance any campaign in the print, electronic or social media claiming that the University of Lagos has introduced a new dress code for its students. All such claims are false and do not emanate from the University. However, it is pertinent to state here that the University encourages students to dress decently and our watchword is “Dress as you want to be addressed”.
University of Lagos management has introduced a dress code for the students of the institution to curb the indecent dressing among the male and female students. This was made known on a notice pasted in the school, it was stated clearly that lecturers and administrators are empowered to correct/exclude students from lectures and official business when they are not properly dressed.

Yesterday, two people were arrested by policemen during a convocation ceremony at the University of Lagos UNILAG. According to reports by the police, the students planned to attack the vice chancellor. Femi Adeyeye and Dotun Olawoye were arrested inside the convocation hall by security agents and taken away by the police. A Citizen reporter with Sahara Reporters, Segun Olawoye was also arrested by the Police shortly after his graduation. The suspects were taken to the Sabo Police Station and later transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti before they were released.
